Why I Love My White Kitchen
Anytime you scroll through Pinterest you can’t help but see a few dozen ideas for a new kitchen. Rustic, cottage, luxury, the options go on and on, with variations in wood, stain, and countertop color combinations. But, my favorite kitchen style has always been, and probably always will be, gloriously white cabinets with happy colors for countertops, backsplashes, and accents. The cabinet collection from Krosswood, with their Shaker styling, and quality construction, are the perfect fit for my kitchen and give me a canvas to show off my love of decorating. Here are just a few of the reasons I love my white cabinetry.
1. Seasonal Flare
With white cabinets, the way is clear to easily decorate for any time of year. Holidays are a snap. Red, white, and blue for Independence Day? No problem! Green shamrocks and rainbows for St. Patrick’s Day? Easy-peasy. Those white cabinets are the perfect foil for the bright colors.
Because white is such a common color, it allows a homeowner to be as bold or as understated as they want to be. If you found the perfect set of bright Fiesta ware bowls for your counter, you don’t have to worry that they’ll be lost in a sea of dark wood.
2. Clean
Are you a clean freak? Let’s face it, who ISN’T a clean freak when it comes to your kitchen space? A white cabinet kitchen is the perfect way to keep a handle on just how clean your work area is. Dirt is harder to hide in a white kitchen and you can spot it, target it, and remove it with greater speed and efficiency. For kids, it makes cleaning even easier because they can actually see what needs to be cleaned.
3. Brilliance
Do you love light and sunshine in your cooking area? Then white cabinets are the perfect match for you. The bright white of the cabinets reflects the natural light coming through your windows, glows from the shine of your kitchen light fixtures, and keeps your workspace brilliant no matter when you feel the urge to whip up a batch of brownies.
4. Goes with Any Style
White cabinets are easy to match with any décor style. Shabby chic, modern, industrial, even rustic and country. The classic, clean lines of the Shaker style lend itself to both old-fashioned and modern interiors. Paired with accent pieces made of gnarled wood and hand thrown pottery, even the most rustic décor looks beautiful with the bright white background.
