Create the Perfect Summer Porch

Years ago the front porch was an extension of the family home where people would gather during the evening time to sit, talk, and visit with the neighbors. There is a revival in the country to slow down and enjoy your front porch again. This can be seen by the number of homes being build with front porches as a dominant feature of the home. A door from Uber Doors in Layton Utah is one of the best ways to improve the overall look and feel of your porch. Here are some other tips to make your front porch the place to be this summer:

Create Outdoor Games

Purchasing or making outdoor games that can be played on the porch can be a fun way to spend time outside with friends. There are chess games and checker games that are made to play outside. Or create your own tic-tac-toe game by using a square plank of wood and paint lines on it and then get rocks to paint the “X’s” and “O’s” on.

Have A Place To Sit

One of the essential pieces of an inviting front porch is having a place to sit. Paint some older chairs a bright beautiful color that compliments your home. Also add a table, make sure it’s size is appropriate for the size of the porch, to eat snacks and lemonade.

Plant Vegetation

Potted plants or hanging plants on the front porch creates a beautiful atmosphere with colors. Choosing trees that provide shade for the porch can make your porch more useable along with other vegetation can cool off the feeling around the area.

Having lights to hang up around the porch allows the porch to be used even into the night time hours. You might even think about updating your porch light to something that adds to the new porch you are creating.

Cooling Effect

There are other ways to cool off your front porch besides creating shades with trees. Having a fan installed on your front porch is helpful or installing misters is inexpensive and very effective especially if you live in an area where misters are necessary to sit outside during the summer months.
